10th Annual Ran Ricks Memorial Golf Tourney
The Oklahoma Thoroughbred Association sponsored a golf event on October 20th at the Fairfax Golf Course in Edmond, Ok. The event honors Ran Ricks who was a very active supporter of racing in Oklahoma. During the early years at Remington Park, Ran campaigned many top horses under the CresRan Farms colors. He was an integral part of racing at Remington Park.
The golf event drew a good response and those individuals and teams participating had a great time, although a strong south wind affected the playing conditions. The winning team was comprised of Roughton, Whitekiller, Donaldson and Cogburn, who had traveled from Sallisaw to compete. The runner-up team was made up of Estes, Clothier and Ragdale. Third place was the #1 TRAO team comprised of Offolter, Caster, Blair, and Schooley.
The event included lunch and dinner for the players as well as drawings for prizes, including a new golf bag, driver, putter and hybrid utility club. Also, several prizes were awarded for longest drive and closest to the pin on all 4 par three holes.
